About Our Leaders

Strong Volunteer Leadership

Galilee's volunteer leadership is so strong that the community functioned well for years even without a called pastor.  Lay leaders, and leaders ordained in other denominations, offer their time and gifts to plan and lead worship, preach, play music, tend the building and grounds, and more.  Our members and friends are dedicated!

Usually, Pastor Julie preaches and leads worship two Sundays per month, while Galilee's other leaders handle the other weekends.

Pastor Julie Webb (PJ)

The Rev. Julie Webb (she/her) has more than two decades of ministry experience in a variety of settings: she's been a jail and hospital chaplain, a Director of Children's Ministry at an Episcopal congregation, and a parish pastor.  A graduate of Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary (ELCA), Pastor Julie enjoyed the ecumenical opportunities provided by her training in Berkeley's Graduate Theological Union, which built upon the time she spent living in communities like Holden Village, Taizé, and Grandchamp.  In 2015, she made a covenant as a Mercy Associate--

a friend of the Sisters of Mercy.

Pastor Julie loves worship, music, faith formation with kids and adults, justice work, intergenerational community, creation/climate care, healing, and contemplative spiritual practices like Centering Prayer.  She loves to witness growth and transformation in others through the Holy One's love and grace.

She serves Galilee Lutheran Church 1/3 time---just 15 hours per week---and devotes the other half of her ministry to her work with companion animals and their humans.  She's a trained and certified Intuitive Interspecies Communicator (an Animal Communicator) who--in the tradition of Francis of Assisi--talks to animals!  She also offers energy work (Reiki, Scalar Wave, and EFT/Tapping with humans and other animals) and pet loss grief support.  The website for her animal ministry is animalpastor.org.
