The Ultimate Short Course in Christianity!
Did you know that one third of the Gospel message is focused on Jesus’ trial, death and resurrection? In these key moments, Christians understand the demands and promises of the Christian life. These days tell the story of an event that changed the world.
You are invited to journey through the days of Holy Week at Galilee Lutheran Church this year. We will accompany one another to that upper room on the night before Jesus’ death. Pray at the foot of the cross. Shout the great Alleluia!
in celebration on Easter Day.
These days transformed the world.
Let them transform you.

10:00 a.m. that same morning:
We gather in the Galilee building for a festive Easter worship service. At Easter, we ring bells whenever we sing or say Alleluia! Please come join us to celebrate that all of us pass with Christ through death to new life.

Three 1-hour sessions on Zoom
Galilee members and friends are invited to learn how to help lead our worship services! The Assisting Minister is usually a lay (not ordained) person, and can be a youth or adult.
As Assisting Minister, you help proclaim the Good News by reading scripture; you help the Presiding Minister lead the congregation in prayer; and you help distribute Communion.
Try a new thing or polish your skills!
4-part Zoom Series with PJ
"A 'god' is the term for that to which we are to look for all good and in which we are to find refuge in all need. Therefore, to have a god is nothing else than to trust and believe in that one with your whole heart. As I have often said, it is the trust and faith of the heart alone that make both God and an idol. If your faith and trust are right, then your God is the true one. Conversely, where your trust is false and wrong, there you do not have the true God. For these two belong together, faith and God.
Anything on which your heart relies and depends, I say, that is really your God."
—Martin Luther, Large Catechism, “[The First Part: The Ten Commandments],” The Book of Concord: The Confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church (ed. Robert Kolb and Timothy J. Wengert; trans. Charles Arand, et al.; Minneapolis: Fortress, 2000), 386.
"But the “Christian” in Christian nationalism is more about identity
than religion. It carries with it assumptions about nativism, white
supremacy, authoritarianism, patriarchy, and militarism." (christiansagainstchristiannationalism.org)
Why don't we sing more patriotic songs or fly a flag in church?!
Join Pastor Julie during this election season to learn more about Christian Nationalism and the harm it can do. We'll meet on Zoom for 4 sessions to consider how we can love our country without making an idol out of it.
Four sessions, every other Wednesday evening from 7 - 8:30, beginning on October 2nd.

Growing old happens automatically. Becoming a wise elder, a blessing to the community, is a whole different process. Join a conversation about what it takes to "grow up in every way into Christ", as scripture says. We'll share videos, maybe some books, and group reflection. This conversation will begin in April, and continue as schedule permits later in the year. Go here for the Zoom link.
Sunday, June 23, 2024
What a wonderful legacy we have in Christ as people of faith! We have a treasure to share with future generations. On Sunday, June 23, join us for worship and a picnic. We will:
As the old campfire song says,
" That's how it is with God's love
Once you've experienced it
You spread God's love to ev'ryone
You want to pass it on"!
